The HTPC is a small form factor one, and therefore any card will have to be a low profile one.

I know I will need to buy another soundcard, but am at a loss as to which one to buy. Now though, I want to connect the sound to my AV receiver and 5.1 setup, and get surround sound. I used to connect a set of 2.1 speakers directly to this via the 3.5mm out. The PC only has the standard soundcard from the motherboard from manufacture. The picture displays fine and gives upto 1080p. The video is handled via a DMS-59 to HDMI which is connected to the AV-Receiver.

The SKY and PS3 were simple to connect via HDMI, but the HTPC is confusing me! I have recently bought a sony str-dn1040 av receiver and want to connect 3 devices to it, SKY, PS3, HTPC.
